James Moten, Jr. holds a Ph.D. degree in Business Administration with a Financial Management Concentration, and has served in numerous positions related to budgeting and financial management at the college level. He managed over $150 million in funds during his tenure as a financial management/budget officer and he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant, and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor.
Dr. Moten has worked in the insurance and investment management industry since 2008 and taught industry professionals the insurance section of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Exam from 2014-2016. Dr. Moten also spent 11 years in the U.S. Army where he served in numerous foreign countries, including South Korea, Germany, Kuwait and Iraq while managing over 500 soldiers and German national employees.
Dr. Moten is currently a Professor of Insurance Management for Collin College and he.brings to National Financial Group over 11 years of college teaching and finance experience. Dr. Moten will work with the team to prepare comprehensive financial plans for individuals, families and business professionals.
